It’s finally over!
The great swim which has had a lot of us in Lakes and Pools all over Europe training chilly early mornings and cold wet evenings since Coniston 2014.
Well done to all the hundreds of swimmers who completed or attempted the swim.
I found conditions this year to be more challenging – the lake was higher. Rainfall had lowered the temperature to 16.8.
The following photos are my personal record of the day from Hoathwaite Campsite on the Friday night to the first few strokes at the start.
Keeping my gear dry and transported from the start to the finish without me were by far the greatest challenge.
A great big thanks to Colin and Steph at Chillswim , all the safety kayakers, volunteers and organisers who made it such a great success.
Can’t wait for 2016!
